Virtual Sensor-Based Geometry Prediction of Complex Sheet Metal Parts Formed by Robotic Rollforming

چکیده
Sheet metal parts can often replace milled components, strongly improving the buy-to-fly ratio in aeronautical sector. However, sheet forming of complex traditionally requires expensive tooling, which is usually prohibitive for low manufacturing rates. To achieve precise parts, non-productive and cost-intensive geometry straightening processes are additionally required after forming. Rollforming a possible technology producing profiles at large For rates, robotic rollforming be an interesting option, significantly reducing investment cost higher times while keeping high process flexibility. Forming performed incrementally by single roller set moved robot along predefined bending curves. The present work’s contribution to overall solution development intelligent algorithm calculate based on reaction forces. This information in-process geometric distortion correction. Reaction forces torques acquired during process, calculated artificial intelligence (AI) applied that information. paper describes AI this virtual sensing system.

Investigation of Effective Parameters of the Two-Layer Sheet Hydroforming Process for Hollow Parts with Complex Geometry
AbstractHydroforming process is a deep stretching process only with the difference that a fluid is used instead of the mandrel. This paper investigates the hydroforming process of non-cylindrical and non-spherical geometries using finite element analysis software to calculate the influences of effective process parameters such as the coefficient of friction between the surfaces and the pressure...
متن کاملOn the Topology of Sheet Metal Parts
Abstract This paper analyzes the topological properties of sheet metal parts represented schematically (zero thickness, zero bend radii). Although such parts are usually non-manifold objects, the paper establishes a general topological invariant f = s + b + e + w v gnm + m regarding the number of facets, components, bends, free edges, welds, vertices holes and volumes, respectively. Correspondi...

متن کاملThree-dimensional localization of thin-walled sheet metal parts for robotic assembly
This article presents a technical demonstration of a system for determining the threedimensional spatial location of complexly shaped, thin-walled sheet metal parts grasped by robots during assembly. For successful part assembly, the precise location of grasped parts (essential for successful mating of parts) must be achieved. A localization system is implemented to determine the accurate posit...
متن کاملPrediction of Instability in Planar Anisotropic Sheet Metal Forming Processes
In this paper instability of planar anisotropic sheet metal during a few forming processes is investigated for the first time. For this reason components of the constitutive tangent tensor for planar anisotropic sheets are developed. By using the above tensor location of necking is predicted. Direction of the shear band is also predicted using the acoustic tensor. A finite element program is pr...
